I found that some of the scrap lumber that I want to use cannot be properly straightened out using just my Dewalt planer. So, I ordered a new Grizzly 8″ jointer from Home Depot.
I mounted the jointer on an existing tool bench in the shop. I was very happy that my shopvac was able to handle the dust collection from the jointer.
The jointer has extendable supports to help handling longer heavier boards.
I was able to square my scrap boards easily on three sides. The joints will be very tight and easy to glue.
Using the jointer in combination with the Dewalt planer will help me greatly for making boards to use in my projects.
