I got the chance to use one of the boards that I made and mentioned in a previous post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I CNC’d a corner of this board to re-make my Change Tray project so that it can more accurately count out a roll of coins in the slots. In the original project, I discovered, the hard way, that the full diameter of the finishing ball end mill needed to be accounted for when defining the finishing constraint vectors.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Roughing Passes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Roughing passes are used to remove a lot of material quickly. A 1\/4″ end mill was used to mill the center of the tray and the define the outer edge and the coin pockets.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

After the coin pockets were finished, text was added to the bottom (coin values) and top (roll coin totals). The tray is then cut out and freed from the stock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All that was left was some light sanding and oiling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
