In the rugged expanse of a land where warriors forged their might, there stood a craftsman, steeled by years and unyielding resolve. He embarked on a quest to create salt cellars, small boxes destined to hold the essence of seasoning, essential for any feast prepared over a roaring fire.

The first prototype, hewn from walnut wood, was a testament to his skill and determination. When shown to a comrade, the man’s eyes gleamed with desire, and he sought to possess one for himself. Fortune favored the craftsman when another ally offered up walnut stock, harvested from a felled tree on the campus grounds. The craftsman secured this precious wood to the CNC bed and carved the base of the box with fierce precision. The lid was fashioned from 1/4-inch stock that lay in wait on the rack, ready to be transformed by the craftsman’s hand.

The Tray Base and Lid
With the base tray and lid prepared, the craftsman applied a generous layer of mineral oil to each piece, ensuring they would endure the trials of time.

The Final Touches
The lid, now glistening with fresh oil, and the tray base, equally treated, stood ready for the final phase. The craftsman applied wax, sealing the wood’s strength and beauty, preparing it for its ultimate journey.

The Finished Product
Excess oil was wiped away, and the box, now complete, stood ready for its new master. A mixture of mineral oil and beeswax was the final touch, imbuing the box with the endurance needed for the days ahead.
Thus, the salt cellar, forged with the strength of a warrior’s hand and the precision of a craftsman’s mind, was prepared for delivery, a symbol of skill and tenacity in the world of wood and toil.
